Gordon Woods - drummer
In the summer of 1917, during the first world war, a young American airman from Owensboro KY was stationed in England, he was Gordon's grandfather, Robert Lee Woods. Gordon grew up in the city of Manchester, and at the age of 15, played rhythm guitar in his first band, playing the local club scene. A guy who was a few classes above him in college was also doing the rounds. His name was Graham Nash with his group, "The Hollies." Gordon made the transition to drums some time later, and played in an Irish showband for several years. In August 1995, he emigrated to Louisville with his wife and two kids.
After a career working for Land Rover and Mini Cooper, he finally retired in 2018. In his own words, "the longing to play music again was always there, and when I got together, initially with Chet and Doug, then Jack, and finally Kat, it was great to be back in a band, especially with such a talented and friendly bunch of musicians."
